Description:
Designing interventions which include goals to improve both agriculture and nutrition indicators often requires tradeoffs and compromise between different stakeholders’ priorities. Agri-food is an open-access, web-based software to support decision-making about which foods to promote for production and/or consumption in nutrition or agriculture programmes when there are multiple, conflicting criteria for the decision. The tool applies Multi-Criteria-Decision-Analysis (MCDA) which allows consideration of trade-offs across a range of nutrition, agriculture, gender and environment criteria as well as how different stakeholders value the criteria. Agri-food has been used in Malawi to facilitate dialogue and decision-making relevant to Agricultural Extension programmes amongst diverse groups of community and district-level agriculture and nutrition stakeholders and examples from these processes will be shared in the learning lab. This session will provide users with hands-on experience in analysing data in the Agri-food software and simulate the process of applying the results to inform decision-making.
