Description
Repurposing support for agriculture and food systems offers considerable scope for obtaining improved outcomes in terms of simultaneously addressing malnutrition, environmental degradation, and in promoting jobs and economic growth. This event will present new modelling which explores the potential of repurposing subsidies to reform food systems. The event will be hybrid and will include an open discussion which will enable attendees to explore the relevance of their own national circumstances.
- Presentation by Prof. Patrick Webb of new modelling analysis commissioned by GLOPAN
- Panel reactions: 4 senior figures will be invited to speak for a maximum of 5 minutes to give their reaction to the presentation, and to comment more generally on the potential role of subsidies in African food systems.
