Description:

This session will present a simple guide for beginners to reference in developing an Evidence and Gap Map (EGM). The focus is to introduce participants to EGMs. In developing the EGM, participants will be taken through the steps of developing a good research topic, defining the Population Intervention Comparison Outcome and Study design (PICOS), developing the search strategy, piloting the search and reporting the search using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) flowchart. Participants will also be taken through the process of developing the screening tool, and coding, and will be introduced to the EPPI reviewer software, which one added feature is machine learning using OpenAlex. Finally, participants will be taken through analysing and reporting EGM and how to navigate through existing maps.
