This session complements a recently-launched distance learning course on the project-level Women's Empowerment in Agriculture Index (pro-WEAI). During the session, participants will go deeper on various aspects of pro-WEAI, including survey fieldwork, index construction, qualitative analysis, as well as reporting and interpretation of results, each of which will be developed into an instructor-led module under the pro-WEAI course in the coming years. The session will also provide resources for all participants to learn more about how to use pro-WEAI. To ensure that everyone is familiar with the basics of pro-WEAI, all participants will be required to take the free online course here in advance of the session.

Preparation materials:

Before attending the learning lab, all participants need to complete the distance learning module on fundamentals of pro-WEAI at https://weai.ifpri.info/distance-learning/

During the learning lab, participants will receive a packet including:

  • 24-hour recall survey module
  • quantitative tables on time use data
  • qualitative protocols, highlighted indicating sections relevant to time use
  • sample qualitative seasonality calendar and excerpts from life histories and focus group discussions

Hi, I was also not able to join this learning lab but I wanted to thank you for sharing the preparation materials. The Pro-WEAI Foundations Module seems to give a thorough foundation on the topic. I will be checking it and certainly sharing it with other colleagues.
