We are delighted to announce that the 7th Annual Agriculture, Nutrition & Health Academy Week ANH2022 will take place online this June in partnership with the Southern Africa Food Lab and a range of pan-African organisations - please see below for more information about our co-hosts. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic the ANH Academy Week rotated between African and Asian countries to lower barriers to participation around the world. This year, we collaborate with longstanding partners to present an exciting ANH2022 virtual programme with a handful of hybrid events coming live from South Africa.

Watch Parties
Host a watch party during ANH2022! While the main conference proceedings will be held online on Zoom, we encourage your institution to convene a watch party, an in-person gathering with colleagues in the same country/city to attend the Research Conference together. Read through this Watch Parties guidance web page and the below graphic for more information on how to host a watch party and what the ANH Academy team can do to support you (including small grants!):
ANH2022 co-hosts
Find out more about this year’s co-hosts in South Africa and across the wider African continent:
Southern Africa Food Lab (SAFL): Established in 2009, the Southern Africa Food Lab brings together diverse, influential stakeholders in southern African food systems to respond to systemic issues in creative ways and to inspire change in how we think and act on complex social challenges. Its purpose is to facilitate the interaction, communication, and collaboration between different stakeholders, including those with conflicting interests, to highlight the need for and to design and implement coherent, systemic responses to the food system through collaborative learning and experimental action.
African Economic Research Consortium (AERC): Established in 1988, the African Economic Research Consortium is a capacity building institution to inform economic policies in sub-Saharan Africa. AERC has three primary components: research, training and policy outreach. The organization integrates economic policy research, postgraduate training and policy outreach within a network of researchers, universities and policy makers in Africa and worldwide.
African Nutrition Society: Established in 2008, the African Nutrition Society (ANS) is a registered scientific professional body, a learned society formed by nutritional scientists, food scientists and other health professionals working in, and with an interest in the nutrition agenda for Africa.
Food Environment Research Network (FERN): Established in 2019, the Food Environment Research Network (FERN), part of the MEALS4NCDs programme, aims to connect researchers in the African sub-region and Global North whose work relate directly or indirectly to improving food environments in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The FERN initiative kindles a collaborative environment and a cross-pollination of ideas towards creating healthier food environments in the African sub-region.
