Level: Intermediate

Description:

In essence, this is a distilled version of the IPC Acute Food Insecurity Level 1 training including a practical IPC classification exercise. In this session, participants will be guided through the use of IPC protocols and food security data to classify a population of households in an area across the different phase classifications. After completing this training, participants will be able to describe the IPC approach and values, know how to complete the IPC protocols and have an experience of what an IPC Analysis is.

Preparatory materials:

It is highly recommended that participants follow the IPC Acute Food Insecurity Classification online training prior to the date of the lab. This course is available at the IPC Learning Platform.

  • Other useful links to share with participants before the lab are the IPC Manuel v3.1 and the IPC initiative website.

  • A link to the IPC analysis platform will be shared with participants the week before the date of the lab. The analysis platform contains all the food security information that we will use in the exercise. No access credential is necessary to connect to analysis platform.
