This session complements the recently launched distance learning course on the project-level Women's Empowerment in Agriculture Index (pro-WEAI). To ensure that everyone is familiar with the basics of pro-WEAI, all participants will be required to take this free online course in advance of the session. The participants who take the online training will be able to raise questions and go deeper on a possible application of this tool for their projects or studies at the session. The session will also provide resources for all participants to learn more about how to use pro-WEAI.

Preparatory materials:

Before attending the learning lab, all participants need to complete the distance learning module on foundations of pro-WEAI and submit a certificate of course completion to us at [email protected] by 5PM BST (British Summer Time) Monday, June 20. Course participants who successfully complete all three units and final exam can download a certificate by clicking “view certificate” on the pro-WEAI course page.

During the learning lab, participants will receive a packet including: 

• Session agenda 

• Presentation slides 

• Pro-WEAI time use module video, narrative, and a filled-in example 

• Pro-WEAI quant resources including the latest questionnaire, data and do files, etc. 

• Case study materials including a sample qualitative seasonality calendar and excerpts from life histories and focus group discussions
