ANH Academy invites ANH2022 participants to join an in-person Watch Party in Brighton on the final day of the Research Conference; Thursday 30 June. The organising team will be hosting the event live from the city, where up to 70 spaces are available for external attendees.

Format, programme and what’s included

Attending the Watch Party is free of charge, but places are limited.

The schedule for the day will follow the official programme (see below), during which attendees will be able to participate in the live events together via big screens, both in plenary and parallel rooms according to the sessions on offer.

Participants will be expected to arrive to the venue  (<1m from Brighton station)  by approximately 11:15am. Refreshments will available throughout the day and there will be a social reception in the evening once the formal programme concludes. Opportunities for informal gatherings will be available on the following day (Friday) should participants wish to organize these themselves.

Preferential rates for the hotel may also be arranged on request for those confirmed as coming. You may also choose to book a hotel at a different venue.

What’s the benefit of joining?

Moving the Academy Week temporarily fully online during the COVID-19 pandemic brought many benefits, however, as noted in participants’ feedback, it also came at the cost of in person interactions. For 2022 ANH Academy is encouraging and supporting groups around the world to host Watch Parties to regain some of these less tangible benefits.

We hope that for UK-based participants, this Watch Party will provide an opportunity to meet other researchers and practitioners, to share the experience of the Academy Week and meet faces, old and new.

How to register your interest

Spaces are limited to 70 participants due to the venue size and complexity of running the hybrid event, and that this is a pilot for the ANH Academy. Please complete the webform below to register your interest in joining.

ANH Academy will accept applications on a first come, first served basis until all slots are filled.  Participants will be notified within one week of registering their interest and full logistics details (including venue info) will be provided at that point.
