ANH Academy is delighted to offer Academy members certified participation in the IPC Acute Food Insecurity Level 1 (AFI L1) training course. The training is based on the latest version of the IPC Technical Manual 3.1 and counts towards “IPC Analyst” certification.
Format and preparation
The course is made up of four online seminars of three hours each. In addition, participants are required to review e-learning materials and read supporting documents as assigned by the facilitator. This will entail up to a further 8 hours of self-study during the training week.
It is strongly recommended that participants complete the IPC AFI L1 e-learning course before starting this course. This will be referred to throughout the training.
Participants will be encouraged to speak up, engage, ask questions and support each other. This will mean:
- being prepared.
- keeping cameras on as much as possible.
- being ready to contribute.
- Feeding back after every session to the facilitators.
For all webinar sessions, all participants are expected to have their computers’ microphones and cameras switched on, so facilitators can interact with participants. This is the participants’ own responsibility to organize.
Who is eligible?
This course is open to academics with an interest in the IPC. A minimum knowledge about food security analysis is required in order to take full advantage of the course. Participation in each training session will be capped at a maximum of 20 people. Places are attributed based on order of application. Each session is planned to accommodate different time zones of the world, so we hope that anyone interested would be able to find a session that is suitable for their location.
