Bio
Karen Hansen-Kuhn is Director of Trade and International Strategies at the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, where she leads work to analyze free trade agreements as they relate to food and farm systems and advocate for alternative solutions to advance fair and sustainable food systems. She has published articles on U.S. trade and agriculture policies and their impacts on food security, rural livelihoods and the climate crisis. She previously led the Alliance for Responsible Trade (a U.S. multisectoral coalition) and then served as Policy Director at the U.S. office of ActionAid. She holds a B.S. in International Business from the University of Colorado and a master's degree in International Development from The American University.
