Abstract:
Knowledge creation on nutrition and its linkages with agriculture and social policy occur across disciplinary boundaries. While advances in knowledge in one field give hope for change on the ground, how these advances are understood and implemented is not self-evident. Despite consensus that nutrition improvement is an outcome of complex interactions between different actors, how any of the knowledge generated for nutrition improvement can become part of a conversation with citizens and in the political process remains largely unaddressed. This paper reflects on the experience of holding conversations about nutrition and hunger across tables and disciplines, to draw out lessons for future exchange.
