After the Paper is Written: Identifying and Communicating Your Messages to Targeted Audiences

Session Overview

In a fast-paced, attention-deprived world, how can you ensure your research makes it into the hands of the people who need to see it? This Learning Lab will cover messaging, audience types, tools for outreach, presentation skills suited to different environments and situations, and ways to get into the debate. Come away with a better understanding of what communications tools are available to you and concrete ideas for broadening the reach of your work, as well as considerations for identifying your audience and tailoring your messages, visuals, and language to them. Bring your stories of success and your questions: we’ll save plenty of time for discussion and learning exchanges, and even practice mastering the one-minute poster presentation challenge
