I work as an Assistant Professor at the Dr BR Ambedkar School of Economics University, Bengaluru,India, and Consultant, International Food Policy Research Institute, Washington DC.
I am an applied economist working on inter-disciplinary & sustainable public policy-related issues. My research interests are in inequality & risk measurement, nutrition, COVID-19, gender, entrepreneurship, and skills. I was associated with the NCAER India, Xavier Institute of Management University Bhubaneshwar, LEAD and GSB KREA University Chennai, World Bank India, United Nations South-South Office,TISS Hyderabad and IFPRI, Washington DC. My research (papers and significant projects) focuses on Asia-Pacific and Africa. I have won several global fellowships and awards. I have referred and published documents in high-impact national and international journals. My work on ag-nutri pathways, child care & nutrition, schooling, and youth skilling is about quantification and qualitative understanding of capabilities and functionings. The innovations I bring are how public policy can enhance capabilities in one coherent framework. Also, how digital methods can improve outcomes for school kids. I interact with researchers from different backgrounds and disciplines. My intense global travels and field surveys add a compassionate touch to my work.
