LSHTM is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow or an Assistant Professor with expertise in maternal and child nutrition in low and middle-income countries. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and renowned group of interdisciplinary scientists in The Nutrition Group within the Department of Population Health at LSHTM. 

The successful candidate is expected to drive a research programme, Indian Food Systems for Improved Nutrition (INFUSION), which aims to deliver evidence for market-level interventions that increase the consumption of nutritious foods in India. The appointee will be expected to contribute substantially to the design and execution of market-based intervention trials, data analysis, and writing for academic publications. Teaching of postgraduate students will also be required.

The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in public health nutrition or a closely related discipline. The successful candidate will have a considerable track record conducting quantitative research in nutrition, with experience in maternal and child undernutrition in low-and-middle-income countries. Experience in dietary data collection and analysis is highly desirable. Further particulars are included in the job description.

The post is full-time, fixed term until 31/05/2027 and available immediately. 

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway scale for Research Fellow at Grade 6 (£42,875 - £48,691 per annum) and for Assistant Professor at Grade 7 scale (£50,048 - £57,013 per annum), inclusive of London Weighting. The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
